Meeting Overview
On 2026 3, 31, the Ministry of Education convened the annual deployment meeting for the National Digital Education Strategy Action. The Party Secretary and Minister of the Ministry, Huai Jinpeng, attended and delivered a speech, emphasizing the need to leverage artificial intelligence as a key variable. Using "AI + Education" as a driving force, the ministry aims to integrate AI across all elements, processes, and scenarios in education.
Six Strategic Directions
1. AI for K-12 Education
Drive deep adoption of AI in K-12 education by building intelligent learning environments that enable personalized learning and precision teaching. Prioritize the development of smart classrooms, intelligent assignments, and automated assessment systems to reduce teacher workload and enhance instructional quality.
2. AI for Lifelong Learning
Build an AI-powered learning platform covering the entire lifecycle, enabling personalized learning anytime, anywhere. Establish a credit bank and qualifications framework to certify, accumulate, and transfer learning outcomes.
3. AI for Innovation
Strengthen cutting-edge AI research and breakthroughs in core technologies, and establish a series of key AI laboratories and innovation centers. Promote AI for Science research to empower basic scientific research.
4. AI for International Communication
Build a digital education cooperation network for the "Belt and Road" to enable global sharing of high-quality educational resources. Develop a multi-language AI translation platform to advance international education exchange and collaboration.
5. AI for Teacher Development
Launch a teacher AI literacy enhancement program with comprehensive training for all staff. Build an intelligent teacher development platform to deliver personalized professional learning services. Cultivate a cohort of AI education master teachers and backbone faculty members.
6. AI for Education Governance
Build an education big data governance system to enable scientific decision-making, refined management, and precise services. Develop an Education Brain to elevate the modernization of education governance.
